How about looking at a specific power grid? You can get information from websites like DoE (do a Google search). Consider the historical load, capacity, how this might change in the future, what 1% EVs would do, 5% EVs, etc. Look at some residential (single family) and apartment (multi-family) systems. Could these even support charging an EV? Ask some local contractor if they have upgraded such systems or are prepared to do so and what it might cost. Don't just read stuff on the Web, actually talk to some people that are involved.
