Dissertation on Design and construction of an experimental device for plates stress concentration.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone im a student in mechanical engineering in greece and i have a project (thesis or ) to Design and construction of an experimental device for plates stress concentration using extensometers, and i was told as a start to search for some ideas of how it's structure and philosophy would be for a device like this. My problem is i dont know exactly where to search for devices like them in order to take some ideas and start my project. If someone knows at least something it would be very helpfull!!

Hi Gerasimos

I confess that i don't actually "get" what you mean by your title...but I should still be able to help.

If the item you are searching for is novel, you won't find anything...the way to approach the subject in that instance is to break down the system into its principle steps/processes/forms using first principle analysis of the item you intend to design. Each of these individual items will have published similes that can be used to back up the process of your research and show good academic rigor.

I've found myself in a similar situation with an item I'm analysing mathematically...its never been done before.  By stepping back and breaking it down into individual steps and physical processes, I've been able to find suitable published articles that can be used to back up the process.

Hope this helps.
