afzal3012
Hello folks, I am mechanical engg. student(bachelor). I came across a 3 wheeler scooter on internet which has a unique swirl/tilt mechanism for the safety and improve dynamism of the vehicle. later after some looking I found there were several scooters using this kind of mechanism. But I could find the how these mechanism really works. i am very curious to know what are fundamentals of these design and how suspensions are mounted and what is the fatigue life. DrD
I have never seen such a machine, but it does not look too difficult. Would you not be able to accomplish this with a simple hinge? Imagine a tube running front to back on the machine. It is secured unable to rotate on the rear unit, but allowed to rotate in bearing through some angle on the front unit. Wouldn't this do the e job? I think so. As to fatigue life, that depends upon the specific design details, specifically the loadings and resulting stresses. majdi_hajjaji
PabLo Dal Buoni
Interesting. I have never seen this. I know tilting is important in middle-high speed curves. Wich is impossible with a regular 3 wheels scooter. I also think this is not a very difficult design. I see the front suspension just like any other motorbike. Fatigue is not a special problem.
