Calculations, design and sizing of hot water/glycol finned coils.

Recommended Posts

Below is a link to hot water/glycol solution coil design and sizing program. The program is based on LMTD method of thermal calculations for hot water/glycol HVAC coils. This is a rating program, which means that the program matches given characteristics of the coils (face area, number of rows, number tubes in row, number fins per inch, materials of tubes and fine, etc.) to required capacity of the coil. As the result, the program will give current capacity of the coil along with other data (air and liquid pressure drops, thermal characteristics, etc.) and how much the coil underdesigned or overdesigned. Based on the given information the user may  change the design of the coil (number of rows, fins per inch, size of the coil, size of tubes, thickness of tube wall and fins, style of fins, circuitry and etc.) to achieve desired capacity.

The program also gives, fin tube layout, outline drawing of the coil with over dimensions and size of inlet/outlet connection. This program is a resent addition to my website:
